Scholarships

Every year, TBFA awards scholarships to students meeting the criteria required by the different scholarships available.

In 2010, we distributed $875,955.00 for our clients in scholarships to deserving students.

The application period is now open. The application period will close on March 31, 2012.

Dear Student:

In order to apply for scholarship with The Baptist Foundation of Alabama the following qualifications and requirements must be met:

Qualifications

  1. Applicant is to be a bona fide resident of the State of Alabama.

  2. Applicant is to be a member in good standing of a Southern Baptist Church cooperating with the Alabama Baptist State Convention. (Seminary applicant is to be a member of a Southern Baptist church cooperating with the Southern Baptist Convention.)

  3. Applicant is to be classified as a full time student according to the school's current catalog.

  4. Applicant must have and maintain a 2.0 GPA.

  5. The Baptist Foundation of Alabama awards scholarships on an annual basis. All students must reapply each year.

Requirements

FIRST TIME APPLICANT

Please enclose:

  1. Completed Application for Scholarship (application is online - link below)

  2. Recent photograph

  3. Two letters of recommendation:
    1) Pastor of home church
    2) Lay member of home church

  4. High School Student
    High School transcript including your ACT/SAT score and GPA

    College/Seminary Student – Include a transcript of last semester of
    completed work and GPA.

  5. A copy of your current state Driver’s license

PREVIOUS APPLICANT

Please enclose:

  1. Completed Application for Scholarship (application is online - link below)

  2. A copy of your grades for the last semester of completed work

All additional attachments postmarked after March 31 will not be considered eligible for Scholarships.

It is the responsibility of the applicant to complete all requirements.

All requirements must be postmarked no later than midnight, March 31, 2012 in order to be considered for a scholarship.
