What is Development? This office works in several areas of Baptist life. Our services are offered to both individuals and Baptist churches and entities. We offer our services in the areas of estate planning and planned giving. We assist the local church in several areas. Speaking to senior adult groups and providing tools to equip the church leadership to teach stewardship of estate assets. Individuals:	For individuals, we offer guidance in planning your estate through the lens of stewardship. God's Word tells us in Psalm 24:1 that He created the earth and everything in it. What a powerful statement! Knowing and believing God's Word to be true, then we are to be stewards of 100 percent of his blessings. How you plan your estate becomes an act of Christian stewardship and we must act to insure that both family and faith are correctly represented in your Christian estate plan. Kingdom Stewardship Alliance
Individuals:	The Foundation assists Baptists in planning for both current income needs and future charitable giving. Through the use of life income gifts, many Baptists have increased their current level of income affording them the ability to give more to current ministry causes while living and the creation of a “Kingdom” legacy that will touch lives long after death. The Foundation will provide assistance in estate planning matters and we invite you to review the GiftLegacy link on this page for additional details. Legal & Financial Professionals:	The GiftLaw web site is a provided by The Baptist Foundation of Alabama as a service to the professional planning community. This site will provide detailed planned giving details, IRS codes and guidelines, and other helpful information as you assist your client in developing a planned gift as part of their total estate plan.



The Church:	The Foundation offers the local church several important ministries. Launched in 2008, the Kingdom Stewardship Alliance^TM was created as a ministry to equip local church leadership to teach the biblical message of stewardship of estate assets. Professional Fund Management: The local church has access to many of the nation’s top financial firms through The Foundation’s Institutional Investment Management program. In addition to providing access to top money managers, funds are socially screened and professionally managed. Stewardship Education Ministry: The local church has many available ministry tools to teach its membership about debt management, budgeting, and tithing. However, there is a void in the ministry of teaching Believers about stewardship of estate assets. 96% of all giving to the church comes from current income yet this represents less than 10% of one’s ability to give. If the church today will have an impact on ministry tomorrow, it must do a better job of teaching holistic stewardship. The Baptist Foundation of Alabama has enacted a specialized ministry providing stewardship of estate asset education.
